This week, United Airlines is rolling out discounted awards with a different mystery destination each day. These deals offer significant savings, but they are available for one day only.

United Airlines announced a significant expansion of its flight network across North America, adding over 100 daily departures during summer 2024, and targeting popular outdoor destinations. The move comes after noticing the rising interest in nature-centric travel post-pandemic.

United recently finished their Polaris Business rollout to all planes in their fleet. It’s a new concept for their business class product spanning everything from lounges to cabins to food and drink. I recently tried it out on a flight from Washington to São Paulo.

For us, the best use of United miles is a flight we would otherwise pay for, available at a low live mileage price. That could be a United Saver Award or a partner premium seat with business class on the long flight. There is no single MileagePlus sweet spot that works every day. United does not publish a current award chart, prices for United-operated awards change dynamically, and partner seats can disappear without notice.
