What is Turkish Miles&Smiles?

Miles&Smiles is the frequent flyer program of Turkish Airlines. Members can earn miles by flying with Turkish Airlines or its partner airlines, including members of the Star Alliance network. The number of miles earned depends on the fare class, the distance flown, and the membership tier. What's new with Turkish Miles&Smiles in 2025?

Major Devaluation in February 2024: On February 16, 2024, Turkish Airlines implemented a significant devaluation of its Miles&Smiles program. The airline introduced new award charts, resulting in increased mileage requirements for both Turkish Airlines and partner flights. Additionally, the program shifted to an additive pricing model for itineraries involving connections through Turkey, where each flight segment's mileage is calculated separately.
Introduction of AJet: In March 2024, Turkish Airlines launched AJet, a subsidiary airline. It's important to note that AJet is not integrated into the Miles&Smiles program. Members cannot earn or redeem Miles on AJet flights, and Miles&Smiles membership privileges do not apply when traveling with AJet.
Termination of Partnership with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS): Effective August 31, 2024, the frequent flyer program partnership between Turkish Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) was terminated. As of this date, earning or redeeming Miles and enjoying status privileges on SAS flights is no longer possible.
Miles Redemption Promotions: Despite the devaluation, Turkish Airlines has introduced promotions to enhance the value of Miles. For instance, in March 2024, a 20% Miles Back promotion was offered for award tickets booked and traveled within specific dates. Additionally, in September 2024, the airline offered up to 40% off Economy Class award tickets for travel until March 31, 2025.
Extended Miles Validity: To provide members with more flexibility, Turkish Airlines introduced the Miles Activation program in May 2024. This allows members to extend the validity of their expiring Miles until the end of 2026, ensuring more time to utilize accumulated Miles for various rewards.
