Use Miles&Smiles award search to compare Turkish Airlines and Star Alliance flights offered through the program. Start with your actual origin and destination, especially if your trip connects in Istanbul.

Turkish's award rules distinguish Promotion Award Tickets from other awards. A lower promotional fare has limited seats. It is not the same thing as a temporary percentage discount campaign.

Routes to compare with Miles&Smiles

An AwardFares Gold or Diamond plan is required for airline, cabin and Saver filters. Add your travel dates to these searches.

• New York to Istanbul: Compare Turkish Business Class from JFK and Newark. Start with Saver for promotional inventory, then remove it if you want to compare other awards.
• Istanbul to Bangkok: Look for Turkish Business Class. If you are arriving from another city, search that complete journey as well. The extra flight can change the mileage price.
• San Francisco to Honolulu: Search United Economy through Miles&Smiles. Use the applicable partner and Hawaii rules, not an old generic US domestic sweet spot. This link leaves Saver off because partner results use different award classifications.

Which Miles&Smiles award chart applies?

Turkish operated awards and Star Alliance awards have separate pricing rules. For Turkish connections, do not assume the price to Istanbul covers the onward flight. For partners, check the relevant regions and domestic exceptions before applying a chart value.

The current airline quote is the final check for your complete itinerary. Taxes and other charges can apply in addition to miles. An award with fewer miles may be less attractive once you include its cash contribution or an extra flight to the starting airport.

Why can United show seats that Turkish does not?

United can make different inventory available to its own members. A MileagePlus result does not establish Miles&Smiles availability. Search Turkish as the program and United as the airline when you intend to pay with Turkish miles.

Which search should I use on Turkish's website?

Use the airline's award booking flow that matches your trip. Turkish flights and Star Alliance awards have separate search options. Some other partner awards require the call center or a sales office. Check the current partner booking instructions if an online search does not cover your itinerary.

How much are Miles&Smiles miles worth?

Miles do not have one fixed cash value. Compare the award with a paid itinerary you would actually buy. For example, if that ticket costs €1,200 and the award costs 65,000 miles plus €250, subtract the charges and divide €950 by 65,000. The result is about 1.46 euro cents per mile. This is a calculation example, not a standard value or cash redemption offer. Miles&Smiles status benefits and upgrades are separate from the award price.
