GOL Smiles Argentina Guide 2026

Smiles Argentina is GOL’s local frequent flyer program for Argentina. Members can earn miles from flights, Club Smiles, point transfers, and mile purchases, then use them for awards on GOL and partner airlines. The difficult part is knowing which rules apply in Argentina and finding a reasonable price in a dynamically priced program.

This guide covers the current Argentina rules as of July 15, 2026, including Club prices in pesos, mileage validity, the four Argentina status levels, Smiles & Money, Viaje Fácil, Cuenta Familia, and Aerolíneas Argentinas. It also shows how to compare Smiles award prices across dates with AwardFares.

What Is Smiles Argentina?

Smiles Argentina is the Argentina edition of GOL’s frequent flyer program. Membership is free, and Argentina residents use the local site for earning, managing, and redeeming miles.

The program is useful even if you do not fly GOL often. You can build a balance through Club Smiles, transfers from participating Argentine rewards programs, buying miles, and eligible flights. You can then redeem on GOL or an available partner airline.

GOL is not a member of a global airline alliance, but the official Argentina site advertises more than 50 associated airlines. Its current partner directory includes Aerolíneas Argentinas, American Airlines, Air France, KLM, Air Canada, Avianca, Emirates, Iberia, TAP Air Portugal, Turkish Airlines, and others. Availability and prices vary by airline, route, and date.

Smiles Argentina vs. Smiles Brazil

The two programs share the Smiles brand, but they are not interchangeable. The current unified-access terms state that each account keeps its own member number, rules, products, and mileage balance. Miles cannot be moved between an Argentina account and a Brazil account.

GOL completed its US Chapter 11 restructuring on June 6, 2025. The proposed GOL-Azul business combination and their codeshare were then terminated on September 25, 2025. This history does not change the central advice in this guide: evaluate Smiles Argentina by the flights and prices available in your own account today.

The Smiles Award Chart: Dynamic Pricing Explained

Smiles does not publish a fixed award chart. Its Argentina program rules say ticket prices can vary by airline, cabin, destination, demand, availability, booking date, and other market factors. The same route can therefore cost a different number of miles on nearby dates.

All mile prices in this guide are observed examples, not guarantees. With dynamic pricing, the number you see on any given day can differ.

Compare Through Itineraries and Separate Segments

Smiles prices the itinerary shown in each search. The price of a connecting trip may not equal the prices you see when searching each flight separately. Compare the complete itinerary with separate segment searches before booking.

Fuel Surcharges and Fees

The number of miles is not the full price. Awards can include taxes, airport charges, service fees, and carrier-imposed surcharges. Review the final cash amount before paying and compare it with the cash fare for the same trip.

Smiles also runs limited-time promotions on redemptions, mile purchases, transfers, and Club enrollment. The offer and its terms matter more than the event name, so check the eligible dates, routes, mileage validity, cancellation rules, and minimum Club commitment before participating.

Useful Smiles Redemptions from Argentina

Dynamic pricing means there is no permanently fixed list of Smiles sweet spots. These are practical searches to run from Argentina:

• Argentina to Brazil on GOL: compare several dates for São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and other GOL destinations. Also compare the award’s taxes and fees with the cash fare.
• Aerolíneas Argentinas awards: Smiles can show domestic and international Aerolíneas award seats even though the flight-earning partnership has narrower rules. See the Aerolíneas Argentinas section.
• Regional partner flights: search partners such as Avianca, Copa Airlines, and Air Europa when their schedules fit better than GOL’s.
• Long-haul partner cabins: Air France, KLM, Emirates, Iberia, TAP, Turkish Airlines, and other listed partners can appear in Smiles searches. Availability can be limited, so compare dates and departure airports.
• Smiles & Money combinations: compare the all-miles option with each available miles-plus-cash combination. A lower mileage total is not automatically a better deal once the cash portion is included.

How to Earn Smiles Miles in Argentina

This is where the Argentine edition genuinely differs from the Brazilian one. Your earning toolbox from Argentina:

• Club Smiles: the monthly subscription deposits 1,000 to 20,000 miles per month, depending on the plan; see the current price table.
• Bank and card point transfers: Santander SuperClub+ and American Express Membership Rewards currently support transfers to Smiles Argentina. Fees, ratios, and promotions can change, so confirm them before transferring.
• Retail and other partners: Jumbo Más currently allows eligible Argentina members to exchange points for Smiles Argentina miles. The official Smiles partner page also lists other local programs.
• Buying miles: the current Argentina product permits purchases from 1,000 to 240,000 miles in a rolling 12-month period. Purchased miles are not qualifying and expire 12 months after crediting.
• Flying: eligible fares on GOL and associated airlines can earn Smiles miles. Always check the airline-specific booking-class table before choosing Smiles as the crediting program.

Can You Transfer GOL Smiles Miles to Another Member?

Yes, but only between two Smiles Argentina accounts. The current Argentina transfer rules allow members to send or receive 100 to 40,000 miles in a rolling 12-month period. Diamante members can send or receive up to 80,000 miles.

Smiles charges a fee per transferred mile. The receiving account normally gets the miles within 72 hours, and those miles expire after 12 months and do not count toward elite status. Transfers generally cannot be canceled or refunded. This product cannot move miles between Smiles Argentina and Smiles Brazil.

Club Smiles Argentina: Plans and Prices (2026)

Club Smiles is a paid subscription that deposits miles into your account. Club miles are valid for 10 years, and every 10 Club miles generate one qualifying mile. Members may also receive promotional prices and early access, subject to each offer’s terms.

These are the public monthly prices displayed by Smiles Argentina on July 15, 2026:

Peso prices can change. Confirm the amount and billing option on the official Club Smiles Argentina page before subscribing.

Do not choose a plan only by comparing the monthly fee with the miles deposited. Check the minimum commitment attached to the enrollment offer, how soon you need the miles, and whether you would still subscribe without the advertised voucher or bonus. The current public offers require six months of Club membership to receive their promotional benefit.

Cuenta Familia can combine future mileage earnings from up to six people: one administrator and five invited members. The administrator must have at least 30 days in Club Smiles or hold Diamante status, and participants must have an active Club subscription or Diamante status. Miles earned before joining do not move automatically, and transferred family miles are not qualifying.

Smiles Argentina Elite Status

Smiles Argentina’s current category page lists four levels. You qualify through eligible miles or eligible flight segments during the calendar year. The program evaluates status on March 31, and the category is valid for the current year plus 15 months.

The threshold is qualifying miles or qualifying segments. Benefits depend on the airline, fare, route, and current terms.

Club Smiles can contribute to status: every 10 subscription miles generate one qualifying mile. Eligible GOL and partner flights can also generate qualifying miles or segments, but the booking class and route rules matter. Award tickets on GOL can count as qualifying segments under the current category page; partner award tickets do not earn redeemable miles.

GOL Smiles Argentina Partner Airlines

Smiles Argentina’s official directory advertises more than 50 associated airlines. GOL does not belong to a global alliance, so each partnership has its own earning and redemption rules. The directory currently highlights these airlines, among others:

Partner awards are dynamically priced. Search several dates, compare the same flight through any other program you can access, and check the cash component before transferring or buying miles. Transfers are generally final, so confirm that the award is still available first.

Redeeming on Aerolíneas Argentinas

Aerolíneas Argentinas is an earning and redemption partner. Smiles can therefore show Aerolíneas award seats on domestic and international routes, including destinations that GOL does not operate. Redemptions are completed through Smiles and use dynamic pricing.

The earning rule is narrower than the redemption partnership. The current official Aerolíneas Argentinas partner page says only eligible segments that start or end between Brazil and Argentina earn Smiles miles. Domestic Argentina flights do not qualify for mileage credit. Eligible fare classes earn 50% to 125% of flown miles, with a 500-mile minimum; excluded booking classes earn nothing.

Smiles & Money in Dollars and Viaje Fácil

These two products solve different problems: Smiles & Money reduces the number of miles needed now, while Viaje Fácil holds an eligible itinerary while you build the full balance.

Smiles & Money combines miles with money. The current Argentina page allows the money portion to be paid in Argentine pesos or US dollars; dollar payment is available only with Visa debit cards. Compare every available combination with the normal cash fare because using fewer miles can produce a much larger cash charge.

Viaje Fácil holds the displayed mileage price while you accumulate the miles. You can reserve an eligible partner itinerary 61 to 330 days before departure and must manually complete the ticket at least 60 days before the first flight. You can hold up to two Viaje Fácil reservations at once. At reservation, you pay the convenience fee plus taxes and charges; the convenience fee is not refunded if you do not complete the ticket. Smiles & Money in dollars and 100% cash payment cannot be combined with Viaje Fácil.

When Does Smiles Release Award Seats?

Smiles does not publish one release schedule for every airline. GOL and each partner control when flights and award seats become available, and partner space can change after schedules open. Search when your dates first become available, then keep checking if the flight you want is missing.

Step-by-Step: Find Smiles Argentina Awards with AwardFares

5. Sort by Price

On the result list, tap the header columns to sort by price. Use the Eco, Prem, Biz, and First class tags to find the cheapest awards across dates, itineraries, and airlines.

You can also use the Max Price filter to hide results above the number of miles you are willing to spend.

6. Filter and Explore (Optional)

Try filtering by cabin class, number of stops, number of passengers, airline (only Aerolíneas Argentinas, for example), aircraft type, or even flight number.

7. Set an Alert

If your route has no suitable seats, set an alert. AwardFares checks for matching availability regularly and notifies you when it finds a result.

8. Book on the Smiles Website

Once you find your flight, click the Book button. AwardFares redirects you to the Smiles Argentina website with your search pre-populated, so you finish the booking there.

Why the Smiles Website Isn’t Enough

The Smiles site is where you confirm and pay for an award. AwardFares adds broader search and monitoring tools before that step:

Booking Rules, Taxes, and Mile Expiration

Taxes and fees: every result should be evaluated using both its mileage price and its cash component. The amount can include airport taxes, fees, and carrier-imposed charges. Smiles & Money supports pesos or US dollars under the payment conditions described above.

Cancellations and changes: eligibility and fees depend on the fare, airline, and conditions displayed during booking. Under the current Smiles Argentina program rules, refunded miles keep their original expiration date. Miles that have already expired by the refund date are not returned.

Tickets for other people: the current Argentina program rules let a member issue awards for themselves and up to 25 different third parties per calendar year. The account holder remains responsible for the booking.

Mile expiration depends on the source and, for standard earnings, the member’s category when the miles are credited:

The current category page advertises longer validity for miles earned on GOL flights: six years for Smiles/Plata, eight years for Oro, and 20 years for Diamante. Check the expiration attached to each credit in your account.

Miles with different expiration dates are used from the earliest expiration to the latest. Account activity does not reset every mileage credit. Smiles also sells an extension product for eligible miles expiring within 60 days, with paid options to add 30, 60, or 90 days.

Smiles Argentina can be useful for GOL and partner awards, especially when you can compare several dates and earn miles through local partners. Its dynamic prices, different expiration dates, and market-specific rules make planning important.
