• New York to Paris or Amsterdam: Compare Air France and KLM Business Class. This search includes JFK and Newark, plus both European hubs. Check the actual airports and onward travel costs before choosing a lower mileage price.
• Miami to Paris: Search Air France Business Class. If your dates are expensive, compare Economy or nearby dates before assuming you need more miles.
• Buenos Aires to Amsterdam: Search KLM Business Class. Open the flight details to check stops and total travel time, as well as the mileage price.

How many Flying Blue miles do you need?

Flying Blue award prices vary. A published starting price or a low calendar result is a useful reference, but the flight you select determines the quote. Compare the same route across dates and cabins, then check the total for everyone traveling.

For a dated example, the September 2026 Promo Rewards list, checked September 7, advertised Air France flights between Europe and New York from 18,750 miles in Economy, and KLM flights between Europe and Minneapolis from 45,000 miles in Business, per adult in one direction, before taxes and carrier charges. The offer required booking in September for travel through February 28, 2027. These were promotional starting prices, subject to seats being available, rather than standard prices for every date.

KLM confirms that taxes and carrier charges are paid separately. Compare those charges alongside the miles, especially if you are choosing between two departure airports or adding an extra flight to reach a cheaper award.

How do Promo Rewards work?

Flying Blue's monthly Promo Rewards discount selected awards. Check the eligible routes, cabins, booking deadline and travel period before planning around an offer. A promotion does not guarantee a seat on your preferred flight, and a low fare is not automatically a Promo Reward.

Find dates, set an alert and book

1. Choose Flying Blue, your route and travel dates. Compare the available results across your date range instead of checking only one departure day.
2. Set your cabin and traveler count. Sort the results by miles to find options worth checking. Open the flight details to review connections and travel time.
3. Create an alert if your dates have no suitable option. Gold and Diamond include live searches and alerts for your route, dates and cabin.
4. Confirm and book with Air France or KLM. Recheck the itinerary, seats for everyone traveling, miles and cash charges before transferring points or completing payment.

Check every cabin before booking. Flying Blue may only reveal mixed cabins near the end of its booking process. A Business Class result can include a flight in Economy. Confirm the cabin on the longest flight on the airline website, even when the search result looks right.

Can I use a calendar to find the cheapest dates?

A calendar helps you compare dates, but open the actual flight before relying on its price. Check the cabin and number of seats too. In AwardFares, broaden your dates and compare results for the route you want, then confirm the current quote with Air France or KLM.

Can I book partner airlines with Flying Blue miles?

Yes, when the partner makes seats available to Flying Blue. Select Flying Blue as the program and the partner as the airline. A seat offered through the airline's own loyalty program may not be offered through Flying Blue, and the mileage prices can differ.

Does the cheapest flight always give the best value?

Look at the whole trip. A lower mileage price may come with higher cash charges, a longer connection or an extra flight to reach the departure airport. Compare those costs with a cash ticket you would actually buy.
