In late 2024, Korean Air completed its acquisition of Asiana Airlines, becoming one of the largest airlines globally. This merger means more routes, better flight schedules, and improved passenger services, with full integration expected by 2027.
Korean Air was recently named the World's Best Airline for 2025 by AirlineRatings.com, praised especially for its spacious economy seats (33-34 inches legroom), thoughtful amenities like slippers, generous meal portions, and friendly in-flight service.
Frequent travelers benefit greatly from Korean Air's loyalty program, SKYPASS, which includes tiers like Morning Calm, Morning Calm Premium, and Million Miler. Each tier provides perks such as priority check-in, extra baggage, lounge access, and increased mileage earnings.
Korean Air's main hub is Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Seoul, a convenient gateway to Asia, North America, and Europe. The airline also operates from secondary hubs at Gimpo International Airport (GMP) in Seoul and Gimhae International Airport (PUS) in Busan, offering popular flights to cities like New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), Paris (CDG), and Tokyo (NRT).
As of 2025, Korean Air operates a modern fleet, including Airbus A220-300, Airbus A321neo, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A350-900, Boeing 737 MAX 8, and Boeing 787-10 aircraft, ensuring comfort, safety, and efficiency across all flights.
Recently, in March 2025, Korean Air revealed its first major rebranding in over 40 years, featuring a sleek new logo and aircraft livery. The refreshed look includes a modern, minimalist "Korean" wordmark in dark blue set on a metallic light-blue fuselage. The iconic 'Taegeuk' emblem has been updated to a simpler, monochrome dark blue, symbolizing a modern take on Korean tradition. Passengers will also be able to enjoy enhanced dining experiences created by renowned chefs, luxurious in-flight amenities, and even greater onboard comfort.
