Recently Found Award Flights with American Airlines AAdvantage
Find flights with AAdvantage miles
Use AAdvantage award search to find American Airlines and partner flights offered through the program. Select AAdvantage when that is the balance you want to spend, even if Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways or another partner operates the flight.
Miles pay for award travel. Loyalty Points track progress toward status and cannot be spent as miles. An earning bonus or elite tier does not automatically reduce an award's mileage price.
Award searches worth comparing
These links require an AwardFares Gold or Diamond plan for airline and cabin filters. Add your travel dates after opening a route.
- American to Miami: Compare Economy from JFK and LaGuardia. Check both airports and nearby dates before moving to a connecting itinerary.
- Japan Airlines to Tokyo: Search Business Class from Los Angeles or San Francisco. The search includes Haneda and Narita. Compare the complete trip cost if you need a separate flight to California.
- Qatar Airways to Doha: Look for Business Class from JFK. Check the actual aircraft and seat. Business Class availability alone does not guarantee Qsuite, and aircraft assignments can change.
Does AAdvantage have an award chart?
American publishes starting values for its own flights, while the actual mileage quote varies. It also publishes a separate partner award chart. Saying the program has no award chart misses that distinction.
For a partner award, check the origin and destination regions, cabin and routing rules. A chart value does not guarantee that a partner has released seats. Search your complete itinerary and number of travelers before transferring miles or buying a positioning flight.
Can I filter for AA Saver awards?
AwardFares does not offer a Saver filter for AAdvantage. Compare the mileage prices and operating airlines instead. A low priced American award is not proof that another loyalty program can book the same seat.
How much are AAdvantage miles worth?
Use the price of a cash ticket you would actually buy, subtract the award's cash charges and divide by the miles required. Keep the currency consistent. Include baggage, airport changes and separate connections when comparing options; a premium cabin is not automatically the best use of your balance.
From search to booking
Set your route, dates, cabin and traveler count. Gold and Diamond include live searches and alerts if you need to track a trip. Inspect each flight's cabin and total travel time, then confirm seats and charges through American before completing the booking.
Partner availability can change between a search and checkout. An alert does not hold seats, and using AAdvantage miles does not mean transferring them into the operating airline's loyalty program.
Our AAdvantage guide includes redemption examples and explains how to compare award prices with the cash fare you would actually pay.
