Atmos Rewards is the loyalty program for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. It replaced Alaska Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles, bringing both airlines into one program with one points currency and one set of status tiers.

In 2026, the program has four status levels, distance-based award charts, status points from flights and credit card spending, and access to Alaska, Hawaiian, oneworld, and other airline partners. Some widely discussed features, including the choice to earn by distance, price, or flight segment, are still planned for later in 2026 and are not live yet.

This guide separates the rules that apply today from features that Alaska has announced for later.

What Is Atmos Rewards?

Atmos Rewards is the combined frequent flyer program for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. Alaska launched the Atmos name in August 2025, and HawaiianMiles joined the program in October 2025. Hawaiian Airlines then joined the oneworld alliance in April 2026.

The transition is complete:

Mileage Plan miles and HawaiianMiles became Atmos Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio.
Mileage Plan elite-qualifying miles became status points.
Existing balances kept their value during the conversion.
Atmos Rewards points do not expire.
Alaska and Hawaiian now use the same program, although each airline keeps its own brand and onboard experience.

Atmos Rewards in 2026: What Is Live Now?

Several important 2026 updates are already active:

New status thresholds: Silver at 20,000, Gold at 40,000, Platinum at 80,000, and Titanium at 135,000 status points.
Status points from more activities: Flights, award travel, eligible credit card spending, and selected non-air partners can all help with status.
Milestone rewards: Benefits begin before elite status, starting at 10,000 status points.
A unified Alaska and Hawaiian award chart: Flights operated by either airline within North America now use the same distance bands.
Hawaiian in oneworld: Atmos members can use oneworld benefits and redemptions across a larger combined network.
Atmos Rewards Unlocked: Members can use points for rotating auctions and fixed-price experiences, not only flights.
Saver earning change: Saver fares booked on or after June 11, 2026, for travel on or after August 1, 2026, earn no redeemable points or status points.

The Biggest 2026 Update: Choose How You Earn

One of the most attractive announced Atmos Rewards features is choice-based earning. Instead of forcing every member into one formula, Atmos plans to let you choose the method that fits how you fly. This could be especially useful because a long, inexpensive flight and a short, expensive flight reward very different travel patterns.

The feature has not launched as of this guide’s July 17, 2026 verification date. When it launches, members should be able to select one method for eligible Alaska and Hawaiian flights and change their selection once each year:

If you choose distance-based earning, Alaska says you will no longer receive class-of-service bonuses or minimum miles. Under the price option, eligible paid upgrades to Premium, First, or Business Class count toward the fare used for earning. Status members should continue to earn their elite bonus under their selected method.

Atmos Rewards Status Levels and Benefits in 2026

Atmos Rewards has four elite tiers. These are the qualification requirements for the 2026 status year:

Benefits available to all Atmos Rewards status holders, including eligible upgrades and preferred seating.

Across all tiers, Atmos publishes eligibility for complimentary First Class upgrades on Alaska, Hawaiian, and American flights within North America, including Hawaii. Extra-legroom upgrades are also available on those airlines, subject to availability and each airline’s rules. Preferred seating can extend to other oneworld partners when available.

These bonus percentages are important: older Atmos and Mileage Plan guides may still show 50%, 100%, and 125% for the first three levels. Those figures are not the current 2026 rates.

Atmos Silver Benefits

Atmos Silver is the first elite tier. It includes one free checked bag, preferred seating, priority services, oneworld Ruby benefits, and eligibility for complimentary upgrades on Alaska, Hawaiian, and eligible American flights. It does not provide general oneworld lounge access.

Atmos Gold Benefits

Atmos Gold adds two free checked bags, stronger upgrade priority, same-day flight changes on eligible flights, and oneworld Sapphire benefits. Sapphire can include Business Class lounge access on eligible international oneworld itineraries; it is not a general lounge membership for every trip.

Atmos Platinum Benefits

Atmos Platinum requires 80,000 status points. It includes three free checked bags, higher upgrade priority, a 100% eligible-flight bonus, and oneworld Emerald benefits. Emerald can provide access to eligible First and Business Class lounges on qualifying international oneworld travel.

Atmos Titanium Benefits

Atmos Titanium is the highest tier at 135,000 status points. It shares oneworld Emerald status with Platinum, but receives the highest Atmos upgrade priority and a 150% eligible-flight bonus. Titanium members can also receive complimentary day-of-departure upgrades to eligible intercontinental Business Class for the member and one companion, subject to availability and route rules.

The most important jump is usually Silver to Gold, because Gold adds oneworld Sapphire and eligible international Business Class lounge access. Platinum is more useful for frequent international travelers who value oneworld Emerald and higher upgrade priority. Titanium mainly rewards very frequent Atmos travelers.

Do Atmos Status Points Reset Every Year?

Yes. Atmos status points reset after December 31 each year. Earning for that status year closes on December 31, but the benefits you earned continue through January 31 of the following year.

Redeemable Atmos Rewards points are different: they do not expire. Status points measure annual progress and cannot be spent on flights.

Atmos Rewards Milestones

Milestones provide benefits before and between status tiers. In 2026, published milestone levels begin at 10,000 status points, with more choices at 30,000, 55,000, 95,000, 125,000, 150,000, 200,000, and 250,000 points.

The available choices vary by milestone and can include bonus points, upgrade certificates, lounge benefits, status for another person, or travel perks. Check the current options before selecting because a milestone choice may be final.

How To Earn Atmos Rewards Points in 2026

You can earn redeemable points and status points in several ways. They are related, but they are not the same balance:

Redeemable points pay for award flights and other rewards.
Status points determine elite status and milestones.

Alaska and Hawaiian Flight Earning Before Choice-Based Earning Launches

Until the new earning choice launches, eligible Alaska and Hawaiian flights earn according to distance and fare class:

Saver X fares earn 30% only for travel through July 31, 2026, or when booked before June 11, 2026. A Saver fare booked on or after June 11 for travel on or after August 1 earns zero redeemable and status points.

Partner Flight Earning

Where you buy a partner ticket matters:

A partner flight booked through Alaska or Hawaiian generally earns at least 100% of distance in eligible Economy, 150% in Premium Economy or domestic First, 250% in international Business, and 350% in international First.
A partner flight booked on the partner’s website generally earns 25% for Discount Economy, 50% for Economy, 100% for Premium Economy, 125% for Business, and 150% for First.
Partner exceptions exist. Check the operating airline, marketing flight number, booking channel, and fare class before you buy.

Award Flights and Credit Cards

Atmos also awards status points for eligible award travel and co-branded card spending. The main card rates are:

All prices below are one-way starting prices. The result you see can be higher because Alaska and Hawaiian use variable pricing on their own flights, and partner award seats depend on saver-level inventory.

Atmos calculates partner pricing from the total distance of the itinerary, including connections. The operating airline must also release award space to Atmos Rewards.

As of July 1, 2026, a partner award has a $20 nonrefundable booking fee per person, each way. Summit cardholders receive a waiver. Taxes and carrier charges may also apply.

Important International Booking Limit

If an award itinerary starts and ends outside the United States, it must be booked at least 72 hours before departure. Stopovers, partner combinations, and routing options also depend on what the online booking flow accepts for that itinerary.

Best Ways To Use Atmos Rewards Points

The best value usually comes from flights, especially when a partner releases a premium-cabin seat at the published chart price. Useful program features include:

Partner Business and First Class awards at published distance-based prices.
A free stopover on many eligible one-way international partner awards.
No change or cancellation fee on most award tickets, although a nonrefundable partner booking fee may remain.
Award travel on Alaska and Hawaiian, including short flights that start at 4,500 points.

Do not assume that every attractive chart price will be available. An award chart tells you what a seat may cost; it does not make the seat available.

Atmos Rewards Unlocked: Use Points for Experiences

Flights are not the only way to redeem Atmos points. Atmos Rewards Unlocked is a marketplace for exclusive events, activities, and travel packages. Offers can include sports, food and wine, outdoor trips, cultural experiences, and packages with airfare or hotels.

There are two main ways to book:

Auctions: Members bid points, and the highest eligible bid wins when the auction closes.
Buy Now experiences: The experience has a fixed points price and can be booked while space remains.

The selection changes often. A recent Pilot for a Day experience offered time in the same type of full-motion Boeing 737 simulator Alaska pilots use for training, starting at 10,000 points. That offer is no longer available, but it shows how unusual these redemptions can be.

Atmos Rewards Airline Partners

Atmos Rewards has three partner categories. The category determines whether you can redeem points and receive alliance status benefits.

oneworld Partners

Hawaiian Airlines joined oneworld in April 2026, so both Alaska and Hawaiian now participate in the alliance. Atmos members can earn and redeem points with oneworld airlines and receive eligible Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald benefits based on their Atmos status.

The current non-alliance earn-and-redeem partners are Aer Lingus, Air Tahiti Nui, Condor, Hainan Airlines, Icelandair, Korean Air, Porter Airlines, and STARLUX Airlines.

Hainan Awards Are Temporarily Unavailable

Alaska has temporarily removed Hainan Airlines award shopping because of a high rate of booking failures. Earning remains published, but do not plan a Hainan redemption until Alaska confirms that award shopping is available again.

Book-Direct Earning Partners

Alaska’s book-direct category includes Aleutian Airways, Bahamasair, Cape Air, Contour Airlines, ITA Airways, Kenmore Air, Mokulele Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Southern Airways Express. These airlines can earn Atmos points on eligible tickets booked through Alaska or Hawaiian, but this category does not promise award redemptions or oneworld status benefits.

Is Atmos Rewards Worth It?

Atmos Rewards is strongest for travelers who can use its airline network. Its main advantages are published partner award charts, valuable premium-cabin partners, a free stopover on eligible international partner awards, status points from award travel, and useful oneworld elite benefits.

Its main limitations are that the best partner seats can be hard to find, published prices are starting prices, a partner award now carries a $20 nonrefundable booking fee each way, and Atmos has fewer major transferable-points partners than some competing programs.

You do not need elite status to get value from Atmos Rewards. A member with no status can still book the same partner award seats. Status is most useful when you regularly fly Alaska, Hawaiian, American, or other oneworld airlines and can use baggage, upgrades, priority services, and lounge benefits.

Does Atmos Rewards have an award chart?

Yes. Atmos publishes a unified distance-based chart for Alaska and Hawaiian flights within North America and separate regional distance charts for global partner awards. Alaska and Hawaiian prices are starting prices and can be higher.

Can I choose to earn by distance, price, or segments now?

Not yet as of July 17, 2026. Alaska says the choice will launch later in 2026. The announced options are one point per mile, five points per eligible dollar, or 500 points per segment. Until the feature launches, current distance and fare-class earning rules apply.

Can I use Atmos Rewards points for experiences?

Yes. Atmos Rewards Unlocked offers auctions and fixed-price experiences that members can book with points. The selection changes and can include events, travel packages, outdoor activities, food and wine, or unusual aviation experiences.

Does Saver fare earn Atmos points?

Saver X fares booked on or after June 11, 2026, for travel on or after August 1, 2026, earn no redeemable points or status points. Earlier bookings or travel through July 31 may still earn 30% of distance.

Can I earn Atmos status without flying?

Yes. Eligible co-branded credit card spending and selected non-air partners can earn status points. Milestone rewards begin at 10,000 status points, before Silver status.

Can I earn status points on award flights?

Yes. Eligible award travel can earn Atmos status points. The result depends on the award and current earning rules, so use the Atmos Rewards Calculator for an estimate.

Is Hawaiian Airlines part of oneworld now?

Yes. Hawaiian Airlines joined the oneworld alliance in April 2026. Atmos status members can use eligible oneworld benefits when traveling on Hawaiian and other alliance airlines.

What is the best way to use Atmos Rewards points?
