British Airways Reveals New A380 Cabins With 106 Club Suites

A new layout for all four cabins, and the details to check before booking with points.

British Airways Reveals New A380 Cabins With 106 Club Suites

British Airways has revealed its refurbished A380 cabins, with 106 Club Suites occupying the upper deck and 12 new First suites. The announcement says the first refurbished aircraft is expected in the coming months, without naming an inaugural flight.

In AwardFares, we can find BA A380 flights and compare award prices across programs. Before booking, check the cabin layout: the aircraft name alone will not distinguish a refurbished A380 from one still flying the previous seats.

The New A380 Layout

Cabin Seats After Refurbishment
First 12
Club World / Club Suite 106
World Traveller Plus / Premium Economy 84
World Traveller / Economy 215

Club Suite

Club Suite extends across the upper deck in four sections, with additional storage and updated finishes.

More Business Class seats do not automatically mean more awards. BA still decides which seats to release, and availability through a partner program can differ from availability through the British Airways Club.

Premium Economy and Economy

Premium Economy gains privacy wings and larger screens. Economy gets wider seats and larger screens.

First Suites and Service Updates

The new First suite adds a shared space between paired centre seats and tables designed for dining together.

The service changes extend beyond the A380. BA announced new dining across its long-haul First cabins from October 1, with First bedding and sleepwear on Heathrow departures from that date and Swaine amenity kits from October 6. Inbound amenities follow over the coming months. The October announcement does not give a rollout plan for installing the new First seat on other aircraft types.

BA also plans a phased November introduction of new Premium Economy bedding and amenity kits, plus Economy bedding, across its long-haul fleet.

Where BA Flies the A380

As of October 20, 2026, BA’s scheduled A380 network covers six destinations from London Heathrow (LHR). Boston and Los Angeles leave the A380 schedule at the end of the summer season.

Destination A380 Service
Boston (BOS) Through October 24, 2026
Johannesburg (JNB) Continues through winter 2026/27
Los Angeles (LAX) Through October 24, 2026
Miami (MIA) Continues through winter 2026/27
San Francisco (SFO) Continues through winter 2026/27
Singapore (SIN) Continues through winter 2026/27

The current network reported by Simple Flying therefore narrows to four destinations for winter, from October 25 through March 27, 2027. The published winter schedule shows two daily A380 flights to Miami and one each to Johannesburg, San Francisco, and Singapore.

These are A380 routes, not confirmed routes for the refurbished cabins. Keep in mind that not every BA flight to these destinations uses an A380, and aircraft assignments can change.

Use our Flight Schedules tool to check the operating aircraft for your route and travel date. Look for 388, the code for the Airbus A380-800, on the BA-operated flight. Our Flight Schedules guide walks through the search. Confirm the assignment with BA before booking.

Searching for BA Awards

Start an AwardFares search from Heathrow with British Airways selected. Add your destination, dates, and passenger count, then choose Business or First.

We support BA award searches through AAdvantage, Qantas Frequent Flyer, Finnair Plus, and Atmos Rewards. Finnair Plus lets you book BA with Avios, while Atmos Rewards uses Atmos Rewards points. Compare availability, points prices, and cash charges across programs before choosing where to book.

For British Airways Club Avios, search directly with British Airways. British Airways Club is not currently one of our supported search programs.

Filter for A380 Flights

Open Equipment, search for A380, and keep both Airbus A380 (380) and Airbus A380-800 (388) selected. Clear the other aircraft types to show only A380 results.

AwardFares filters with British Airways selected and both Airbus A380 (380) and Airbus A380-800 (388) checked.
Select both A380 entries to cover the aircraft codes shown across programs.

If you need a connection on another aircraft, search the Heathrow–A380 segment separately or allow the connecting aircraft type too. The filter identifies the aircraft, so you still need to check the seat map for the new cabins.

The Same Flight, Three Prices

On London Heathrow to Los Angeles, for example, we see the same BA269 A380 flight in First for 85,000 AAdvantage miles, 105,000 Atmos Rewards points, or 155,200 Qantas Points, per person, one way. Each program shows one First award seat.

AwardFares BA269 Heathrow to Los Angeles A380 result showing First at 85,000 AAdvantage miles, 105,000 Atmos points and 155,200 Qantas Points, with one seat through each program. Premium Economy shows 40,000 AAdvantage miles or 85,000 Qantas Points.
One BA flight, with different prices and seat counts across partner programs. Taxes and fees are additional.

Premium Economy also differs: 40,000 AAdvantage miles with two seats, versus 85,000 Qantas Points with four. The program with the lowest price may not have enough seats for your group. Compare the cash charges and the points you can access, too (currencies are not interchangeable).

This is where AwardFares Gold and Diamond help: both let you run live searches for your dates and compare multiple programs together. Gold searches two programs simultaneously; Diamond searches up to five, making a three-program comparison like this possible in one search. You can see the price and seat-count differences before deciding where to book or transfer points.

Checking the Cabin Before Booking

Open a promising result and inspect its Seat Map where available. Compare the assigned layout with BA’s published configuration, particularly the upper-deck Club Suite cabin. If the layout is missing or unclear, confirm it with BA before transferring points.

This 14-seat First map shows the existing A380 configuration. The refurbished cabin will have 12 First suites.

The five green seats are available for seat selection, which is different from award availability. The search above shows just one First award seat per program.

A Live Alert can help find seats within your dates and points budget. After an alert arrives, confirm availability with the booking program and check the cabin assignment with BA. Recheck closer to departure because an aircraft substitution can change the experience.
