Etihad Guest changed its flight rewards, elite status rules, transfer partners, and A380 network between late 2025 and mid-2026. Etihad announced that GuestSeat would become Saver Award in November 2025 and made every available seat bookable with miles. Its current English website now calls the fixed-rate option a Promo seat, while some regional pages still use Saver Award and OpenSeats.
This guide explains both types without relying on one market’s label. It covers fixed-rate member awards, standard seats paid with miles, current award prices, fees, transfer partners, elite status, and how to find Etihad award availability with AwardFares.
Why Etihad Uses Different Award Names
Etihad’s award names currently vary across its website. The November 2025 announcement renamed GuestSeat to Saver Award. The current English booking information uses Promo seat for the same fixed-rate, member-only inventory. This guide uses fixed-rate award unless a specific Etihad label is needed.
Key Takeaways
- Two ways to use miles for flights: book limited fixed-rate Promo/Saver inventory, or pay for any available seat at the applicable standard fare.
- Promo fares have strict rules: Value, Comfort, and Deluxe fixed-rate tickets cannot be changed or canceled within 72 hours of departure.
- Some status thresholds are temporarily lower: eligible members can attain or retain Silver, Gold, and Platinum with 25% fewer Tier Miles through March 31, 2027.
- U.S. Amex transfers ended: U.S. Membership Rewards stopped transferring to Etihad Guest on June 30, 2026. Capital One, Citi, Bilt, Rove, and Marriott remain options.
- Starting prices can be low: Etihad introduced fixed-rate starting prices of 5,000 miles in Economy and 15,000 miles in Business, but availability is limited.
- The A380 network keeps changing: Tokyo joined in June 2026, and Bangkok receives daily A380 service from October 25, 2026.
- Search before transferring: use AwardFares to compare dates, prices, aircraft, and other programs before moving points.
What Is Etihad Guest?
Etihad Guest is the frequent flyer program of Etihad Airways. Membership is free, and members can earn and redeem miles with Etihad and more than 25 airline partners.
The program stands out for a few reasons:
- Two flight-reward options: limited fixed-rate awards and standard available seats paid partly or fully with miles.
- Family Membership: up to nine members can earn miles individually and pool them for rewards.
- MilesBooster and Cash+Miles: ways to increase a balance or combine miles with another payment method.
- Premium-cabin upgrades: eligible members can use miles to upgrade to Business, First, or The Residence.
Your Etihad Guest number appears in your profile on etihad.com and in the Etihad Airways app, on your digital membership card, and in program emails. You will need it to credit flights and link transfer-partner accounts.
What’s New With Etihad Guest in 2026?
The most important recent changes are:
- November 13, 2025: GuestSeat was renamed. Etihad announced the Saver Award name and expanded miles payments to every available seat. Its current English website now uses Promo seat for fixed-rate awards.
- November 13, 2025: new fixed-rate fare rules. Promo/Saver tickets use Value, Comfort, and Deluxe fare options. The detailed rules are covered below.
- Tier Miles on fixed-rate awards: Comfort and Deluxe award bookings earn 25% and 50% Tier Miles. Business Comfort and Deluxe awards include Etihad Chauffeur service within the UAE.
- March 18, 2026 through March 31, 2027: lower tier thresholds. Eligible members who already held Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum on March 17, 2026 receive a 25% reduction for attaining or retaining Silver through Platinum.
- April 30, 2026: elite award discounts. Gold, Platinum, and Emerald members now receive up to 10% off Promo-seat prices.
- May 22, 2026: Bangkok Airways joined. Members can now redeem Etihad Guest miles on Bangkok Airways.
- June 2026: two partner changes. U.S. Amex Membership Rewards transfers ended on June 30. The Air Serbia partnership also ended on that date.
- The A380 network expanded. Tokyo Narita received daily A380 service in June 2026, and Bangkok follows on October 25, 2026.
- The wider network continues to grow. Etihad now serves more than 100 destinations. We covered an earlier stage of this expansion when Etihad announced 10 new routes.
Fixed-Rate Awards vs Any Available Seat
Etihad Guest offers two practical ways to use miles for a flight.
Fixed-rate member awards are called Promo seats on Etihad’s current English pages and Saver Awards on some regional pages. These seats have reduced mileage rates and limited availability. Economy awards were introduced with a starting price of 5,000 miles one-way, while Business started at 15,000 miles. The actual price depends on distance, cabin, and available inventory.
Any available seat can also be paid with miles, or with a combination of miles and another payment method. These bookings use the available commercial fare rather than the limited fixed-rate award price. They offer more choice, but usually require more miles.
Use the following rule:
- If your dates are flexible, compare several days and choose a fixed-rate Promo/Saver seat.
- If you must take one specific flight, compare the standard miles price with the cash fare before booking.
- Always check the final fare name, mileage amount, taxes, and change rules on Etihad’s checkout page.
Comfort and Deluxe fixed-rate awards can earn Tier Miles. Value awards do not.
Etihad Guest Award Prices in 2026 (No Published Chart)
Etihad does not currently publish a complete guaranteed award chart. Its miles calculator provides the current fixed-rate price for a route, and Etihad’s terms allow those prices to change without notice. The 5,000-mile Economy and 15,000-mile Business starting prices were introduced in Etihad’s 2024 program update.
The table below shows the last published starting-rate structure for Etihad-operated flights. It remains useful for estimating the distance band, but it is not a promise that a seat will be available at that price.
| One-Way Distance | Economy From | Business From | First From |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0-500 miles | 5,000 | 15,000 | 30,000 |
| 501-1,000 miles | 10,000 | 20,000 | 40,000 |
| 1,001-1,500 miles | 13,000 | 30,000 | 55,000 |
| 1,501-2,000 miles | 15,000 | 35,000 | 80,000 |
| 2,001-2,500 miles | 20,000 | 45,000 | 90,000 |
| 2,501-3,000 miles | 25,000 | 60,000 | 110,000 |
| 3,001-4,000 miles | 30,000 | 70,000 | 120,000 |
| 4,001-5,000 miles | 37,000 | 75,000 | 135,000 |
| 5,001-6,000 miles | 45,000 | 95,000 | 140,000 |
| 6,001+ miles | 60,000 | 120,000 | 160,000 |
Prices are one-way, per person, and exclude taxes and carrier charges. Treat them as starting-price references and confirm the current total before transferring points.
Use This Data as a Guide, Not a Guarantee
Important: Fixed-rate inventory is limited. A higher price may be a standard available seat paid with miles, a different fare option, or a changed fixed-rate price. Confirm the fare label on Etihad’s website before booking.
To estimate the value of a redemption, subtract the award’s taxes and fees from the comparable cash fare, then divide the result by the number of miles. Compare several dates because both the cash fare and the miles price can change.
Best Ways to Use Etihad Guest Miles: Sweet Spots
The following redemptions are useful places to begin a search:
- Short flights from Abu Dhabi: search routes such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Bahrain, and Muscat. These routes fall into the lowest distance bands.
- Abu Dhabi to Muscat in Business Class: a short way to try Etihad Business Class when fixed-rate inventory is available.
- Abu Dhabi to London on the A380: this route offers the First Apartment. Compare Etihad Guest with programs such as Air Canada Aeroplan before transferring miles.
- A Residence upgrade: eligible First tickets can be upgraded to The Residence with Etihad Guest miles. Check eligibility and upgrade availability before buying the underlying ticket.
- New and recently expanded routes: extra capacity can create more award seats, but availability is not guaranteed. Set an alert instead of assuming a new flight will have fixed-rate inventory.
Monitor Sweet Spots
Use AwardFares to compare these routes across multiple dates. Set an alert when fixed-rate seats are not currently available, and transfer points only after confirming the flight you want.
Etihad Cabins, Ranked
The A380, First Apartments, and The Residence in 2026
Etihad’s A380 has First Apartments and The Residence, the only three-room suite in commercial aviation. First Apartment awards can be booked when the required inventory is available. The Residence is offered as an upgrade from an eligible First ticket and can be paid for with Etihad Guest miles.
Etihad’s announced A380 network for 2026 includes:
- London Heathrow (LHR)
- Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)
- Singapore (SIN)
- Toronto (YYZ): replaced New York JFK as the North American A380 route in June 2025.
- Tokyo Narita (NRT): daily service began in June 2026. Etihad confirmed the inaugural arrival on June 18.
- Bangkok (BKK): daily A380 service begins October 25, 2026.
New York no longer has Etihad A380 service. Abu Dhabi to New York still operates, but not with First Apartments or The Residence.
Aircraft assignments can change. Check the aircraft type in AwardFares and again on Etihad’s website before booking specifically for the First Apartment or The Residence.
How to Earn Etihad Guest Miles
Eligible flights can earn both Guest Miles and Tier Miles. The amount depends on the marketing carrier, operating carrier, booking class, route, and fare. Use Etihad’s miles calculator for an estimate before choosing where to credit a flight.
For U.S. travelers, these are the main ways to transfer points into Etihad Guest:
| Points Program | Typical Ratio | Current Status |
|---|---|---|
| Capital One Miles | 1:1 | Active |
| Citi ThankYou Rewards | Check the eligible Citi account | Active |
| Bilt Rewards | 1:1 | Active; joined in October 2025 |
| Rove Miles | 1:1 | Active; see our Rove Miles guide |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 3:1 | Active; hotel points generally provide lower value than bank points |
| U.S. Amex Membership Rewards | — | Ended June 30, 2026 |
Etihad also works with banks and loyalty programs in other countries. Transfer availability and ratios can differ by market, so check the provider shown in your own Etihad Guest account.
A few more earning options worth knowing:
- Flying Etihad and partners: earning rates vary by fare and booking class.
- MilesBooster: increase eligible miles earned from recent flights and partner activity for a fee. Etihad currently allows up to three times the original miles, subject to annual limits.
- Buying miles: most members can buy up to 100,000 miles per year; Platinum members can buy up to 150,000. Buying miles is usually best when you have already confirmed an award and need a small additional balance.
- Family Membership: up to nine members can link accounts and pool redeemable miles. Each person continues earning their own Tier Miles and keeps individual status benefits.
- Cash+Miles: pay for an available flight with a combination of miles and another payment method when your balance is not enough.
Check Availability Before Transferring
Points transfers are generally one-way. Check live availability on AwardFares, confirm the price on Etihad’s website, and then transfer the amount you need.
Booking Etihad Guest Partner Awards
Etihad has more than 25 airline partners. The current network includes airlines from all three major alliances as well as independent carriers. Bangkok Airways joined in May 2026, while the Air Serbia partnership ended on June 30, 2026.
| Booking Type | How to Book | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Etihad fixed-rate Promo/Saver seat | Etihad website or app | Fare option, miles price, taxes, and inventory |
| Any available Etihad seat paid with miles | Etihad website or app | Commercial fare rules and cash comparison |
| Supported partner award | Etihad website when shown online | Operating airline, cabin, segment pricing, and carrier charges |
| Partner award not available online | Etihad Guest contact center | Availability, service fee, and ticketing deadline |
Review Etihad’s current airline-partner directory before transferring miles. Earning eligibility does not always mean that every flight is available as an award.
Etihad Guest Elite Tiers and Reduced 2026 Thresholds
Etihad Guest has five membership levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Emerald. Members qualify through a rolling 12-month period, and part of the Tier Miles requirement must come from eligible flights.
From March 18, 2026 through March 31, 2027, Etihad is reducing the requirements for eligible members by 25%. The offer applies only to members who held Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum status as of March 17, 2026 at 23:59 GMT+4.
Attaining a Higher Tier
| Tier | Standard Total | Reduced Total | Standard Flying Minimum | Reduced Flying Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 25,000 | 18,750 | 10,000 | 7,500 |
| Gold | 50,000 | 37,500 | 20,000 | 15,000 |
| Platinum | 125,000 | 93,750 | 40,000 | 30,000 |
Retaining an Existing Tier
| Tier | Standard Total | Reduced Total | Standard Flying Minimum | Reduced Flying Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 20,000 | 15,000 | 10,000 | 7,500 |
| Gold | 40,000 | 30,000 | 20,000 | 15,000 |
| Platinum | 100,000 | 75,000 | 40,000 | 30,000 |
The reduction does not apply to Emerald. Emerald requires Platinum status and USD 150,000 in eligible spending on Etihad flights, excluding taxes. Check the official tier page for the full terms and your personal qualification period.
Silver and higher members receive Core Benefits and can select annual Custom Benefits. Gold and higher members can unlock shareable Beyond Benefits after reaching additional thresholds. Gold, Platinum, and Emerald members also receive up to 10% off eligible Promo-seat awards.
Etihad has also offered temporary ways to reach status faster:
- Status match: Etihad has run status match campaigns for elites from other programs. Our Etihad status match guide covers how it works.
- Fast-track promotions: Etihad ran a tier fast track in April 2026. That offer ended April 30, 2026, but similar limited promotions may return.

Award Booking Rules and Fees (2026)
The following rules apply to fixed-rate Promo/Saver tickets issued or reissued from November 13, 2025. They do not automatically apply to a standard commercial fare paid with miles, which follows the rules of the fare purchased.
| Fare Option | Changes More Than 72 Hours Before Departure | Cancellation More Than 72 Hours Before Departure |
|---|---|---|
| Value | 600 AED fee | Not permitted at any price |
| Comfort | 200 AED fee | 25% of miles forfeited |
| Deluxe | Free | Free |
The 72-Hour Lockout
Etihad’s detailed Promo-fare table does not permit changes or cancellations within 72 hours of departure for Value, Comfort, or Deluxe. Check the fare rules shown during booking because standard seats paid with miles can follow different commercial conditions.
The official fare table also shows different baggage, seat selection, lounge, upgrade, and Tier Miles benefits for each option. Taxes, carrier charges, and possible contact-center service fees are additional to the miles price.
Avoid speculative Value bookings. If your plans are uncertain, compare the extra miles required for Comfort or Deluxe with the potential cost of changing or losing the ticket.
Etihad Guest miles are valid for 18 months for Bronze, Silver, and Gold members. An eligible Etihad or partner flight extends them for another 18 months. Miles held by Platinum and Emerald members do not expire.
When Does Etihad Release Award Seats?
Etihad Guest generally opens its booking calendar about 330 days before departure. That is the earliest date you may be able to book; it does not mean every cabin will have fixed-rate availability on that date. Additional seats can appear later because of schedule changes, cancellations, or inventory adjustments.
We track release windows across all major programs and keep our master guide current.

Step-by-Step: How To Find Etihad Guest Award Flights
Here is how to use AwardFares to find Etihad fixed-rate award space, compare prices, and continue to Etihad to book.
1. Go to AwardFares
Creating an account is optional, but registration is free and unlocks additional features. Create a free account when you are ready.
2. Choose Etihad Guest in the Loyalty Program Field
Select Etihad Guest from the dropdown menu to search for your award flight.

3. Enter a Route
Add your origin and destination airports, and AwardFares will search for available award flights, including those with stops.
In this example, we search for flights between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and London Heathrow (LHR).

4. Explore Dates for Your Flights
Enter specific dates or use the Timeline View to compare availability over a longer period. Because Etihad does not publish guaranteed award prices, the timeline makes it easier to identify lower-priced fixed-rate dates.

You’ll see the result list right below:

Select a flight to expand details such as the aircraft type, which helps confirm whether a route is scheduled to use the A380. You can also check current seat maps to see which seats are free or occupied.

5. Sort by Price
Tap the Eco, Prem, Biz, and First column headers to sort results by price and surface the cheapest awards across dates, itineraries, and airlines.
Here’s an example of the cheapest redemptions in First Class:

And here’s an example of the cheapest redemptions in Economy Class:

6. Filter Your Results
Narrow the results with filters for non-stop flights, cabin class, specific airlines, or a maximum price in miles. For example, open a filtered search for Abu Dhabi to London in Business Class.

7. Set an Alert
If fixed-rate space is not available on your dates, set an alert and receive a notification when matching seats appear. This can help you avoid booking a restrictive Value fare simply because it is the only option available today. With a Gold or Diamond membership, you can monitor several routes at the same time.

8. Build Round Trips
Use our Journey Planner to add flights to your journey and build round-trip itineraries. Learn more in the Journey Planner guide.

9. Book via Etihad’s Website
Once you find your desired flight, click the Book button.

AwardFares redirects you to Etihad’s website with your search pre-populated, so you can log in and complete the booking without re-entering anything.

Why Searching on Etihad.com Isn’t Enough
Etihad’s website is the place to confirm and book a flight, but comparing many dates requires repeated searches:
| AwardFares | Etihad.com | |
|---|---|---|
| Search many dates at once (Timeline View) | ✅ | ❌ |
| Sort by miles price across dates | ✅ | ❌ |
| Alerts when fixed-rate space opens | ✅ | ❌ |
| Compare with other programs side by side | ✅ | ❌ |
| See aircraft type and seat maps before booking | ✅ | Partially |
| Final booking and payment | Via redirect | ✅ |
Because prices can change and fixed-rate space is limited, compare several weeks of dates and check other programs that can book the same cabins before transferring points. AwardFares brings those comparisons into one search instead of requiring repeated searches on airline websites.
One caveat that applies everywhere in award travel: always confirm the seat is actually bookable before transferring points. Our phantom availability guide explains why space occasionally shows in search tools but fails at checkout, and how to protect yourself.
Get the Most Out of Your Etihad Guest Miles
Etihad Guest can offer strong value when fixed-rate space is available, especially on short routes and selected premium-cabin flights. The A380 is also worth checking when you want the First Apartment or an eligible upgrade to The Residence. Search across dates, compare programs, and review the fare rules before booking.
You can try AwardFares for free. We regularly roll out new features and improvements, so sign up for our monthly newsletter to stay on top of the latest news, announcements, and pro tips.
With our Gold and Diamond tiers, you get premium features such as unlimited daily searches, alerts, seat maps, flight schedules, and more. Alerts can help you wait for suitable fixed-rate space instead of making a restrictive Value booking that may cost 600 AED to change.
You can also explore all our Etihad Guest coverage and the Etihad Guest program page on AwardFares.
Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions Answered
What happened to Etihad GuestSeat awards?
Etihad renamed GuestSeat to Saver Award in November 2025. Its current English booking pages use Promo seat for this limited, fixed-rate inventory, while some regional pages still use Saver Award. Etihad also made standard available seats payable with miles. The exact label can therefore vary by page and market.
What is the best way to book Etihad award flights?
Find the space first, then book on etihad.com. Use AwardFares to scan availability across dates with the Timeline View, sort by price, and confirm the flight you want. Select Book to continue to Etihad’s website with your search pre-filled. Check the fare rules before paying, especially when choosing a fixed-rate Value fare.
How do I find Etihad Guest award seat availability?
Search your route on AwardFares with Etihad Guest selected as the loyalty program. You’ll see live award availability across dates, cabins, and connecting itineraries without logging into an Etihad account. Set an alert if your preferred date shows nothing today.
How many miles is Business Class from Abu Dhabi to London?
Etihad does not guarantee a single published price. Its last published starting-rate table placed the roughly 3,400-mile Abu Dhabi-London route in the 3,001-4,000-mile band, starting at 70,000 miles one-way in Business Class. Current pricing and fixed-rate availability can differ, so compare several dates in AwardFares and confirm the final amount with Etihad’s miles calculator and checkout page.
Do Etihad Guest miles expire?
Miles are valid for 18 months for Bronze, Silver, and Gold members. An eligible Etihad or partner flight extends them for another 18 months. Miles held by Platinum and Emerald members do not expire.
How much are Etihad Guest miles worth?
The value depends on the redemption. To calculate it, subtract the award’s taxes and fees from the comparable cash fare, then divide by the number of miles required. Fixed-rate awards can provide better value than standard available seats paid with miles, but always compare the exact cash and award prices before transferring points.
How do I find my Etihad Guest number?
Log in on etihad.com or in the Etihad Airways app; your membership number is shown in your profile and on your digital membership card. It also appears in the program emails Etihad sends you. If you’ve lost access entirely, Etihad’s account recovery flow can locate your account from your registered email.
Which points transfer to Etihad Guest in 2026?
Transfer partners and ratios depend on your country and account. For eligible U.S. accounts, Capital One Miles and Bilt Rewards transfer at 1:1, and Citi ThankYou Rewards remains a transfer option. Rove Miles transfers at 1:1, while Marriott Bonvoy generally transfers at 3:1. U.S. Amex Membership Rewards ended transfers to Etihad Guest on June 30, 2026; this does not necessarily apply to Amex programs in other countries.
Can I earn and redeem Etihad Guest miles on partner airlines?
Yes. Etihad Guest has more than 25 airline partners for earning and redeeming, although eligibility and rates depend on the airline, route, and fare class. Review Etihad’s current airline-partner directory before transferring points. AwardFares lets you compare what Etihad Guest and other supported programs charge for the same seats.
Can I book The Residence with Etihad Guest miles?
You can use Etihad Guest miles to pay for an upgrade from an eligible First Class ticket to The Residence; it is not presented as a separate fixed-rate award in the standard search. Etihad’s announced 2026 A380 network includes London Heathrow, Paris CDG, Singapore, Toronto, and Tokyo Narita, with Bangkok joining on October 25, 2026. Confirm the aircraft and upgrade eligibility before buying the First ticket.
Does Etihad Guest cost money to join?
No. Membership is free, and you can sign up online in minutes. Features like Family Membership pooling are also free to set up.
Can families pool Etihad Guest miles?
Yes. An Etihad Guest Family Membership can include up to nine people. Members earn Guest Miles individually and can pool them for redemptions, while each person keeps their own Tier Miles and status benefits.
What are Etihad's award change and cancellation fees?
For fixed-rate Promo/Saver tickets issued or reissued from November 13, 2025, Value cannot be canceled and costs 600 AED to change. Comfort costs 200 AED to change and forfeits 25% of the miles when canceled. Deluxe can be changed or canceled without a fee. None of these three fixed-rate fare options permits changes or cancellations within 72 hours of departure. Standard commercial seats paid with miles follow the rules of the purchased fare.
What does "book with Etihad Guest miles" mean?
It means using Etihad Guest miles for some or all of a flight’s fare; taxes and carrier charges may still require a cash payment. Miles can be used for limited fixed-rate awards, standard available Etihad seats, eligible upgrades, and supported partner awards.
Is there an Etihad Guest status match right now?
Etihad has offered status match and fast-track campaigns, including a tier fast track that ended on April 30, 2026. Check our Etihad status match guide and general status match guide for the latest available offers.
